Winners of BrandSpark Internationals 2018 Best New Product Awards announced from a survey of over 15,000 Canadians. (CNW Group/BrandSpark International) Toronto – BrandSpark International has released the winners of its 15th annual Best New Product Awards (BNPA).
In a statement, BrandSpark explains that more than 15,000 Canadians vote on their favourite products in 48 different categories. The products include beauty and personal care, food, household and pet products.

At the same time, BrandSpark conducted a survey with the respondents, asking about their shopping habits.
As noted in the press release, some of the survey results include:
- Seven in 10 Canadians like trying new products
- Seven in 10 Canadians say that when they try new products they are generally from brands they count among their most trusted.
- One in two Canadians say they are less brand loyal than they were a few years ago.
- One in two Canadians say there are too many new products for them to determine which to choose on their own. These consumers often seek guidance to help them choose.
- Two in three Canadians say they look for new products that will make their lives easier.
- Four in five Canadians place value on “natural” food claims, including “free of hormones,” “free of antibiotics,” and “no artificial flavours.”
- Three in four Canadians agree that taste is still the most important factor in their food purchases.
- 70 per cent of Canadians say they generally trust consumer reviews to guide them.
