On June 2, National Hunger Awareness Day, Campbell Company of Canada and Food Banks Canada launched the Help Hunger Disappear campaign.
Campaign hits major centres
The company donated thousands of cans of its tomato soup (seen here spelled out to form the word "hunger") during interactive public events in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.
Participants were encouraged to take a can down and donate it to a local food bank to help hunger disappear.
Campbell has pledged to donate 100,000 cans of its tomato soup to the campaign, including through consumer coupons redeemable at grocery stores, and online through virtual cans of soup on Facebook.com.
