The 34th Packex Toronto took place from May 5 to 7 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
For the first time, the show was co-located with IPA Canada, the National Food Process Exhibition. These two co-located events provided technologies and solutions under one roof, from food production to its shipment.
This year, Packex welcomed 7,034 attendees, which is a 17 per cent increase from the last Packex, and had more than 354 exhibitors from Canada, the U.S. and overseas. There were also 143 new companies.
For the first time, the show presented a new sector layout to give exhibitors an equal opportunity to connect with buyers. This layout featured material handling; packaging machinery and machinery components; materials; converting; prepress and printing; and food processing with IPA Canada.
This year’s conference program marked a huge success. The program was divided into three main topics: Youth and Trends, Sustainability and Safety, and Security and Traceability.
Packex was also host to the Walmart conference on Sustainable Strategies organized in partnership with the Packaging Association of Canada.
