KINGSPORT, TENN—Plastics producer Eastman Tritan’s copolyester is being used in a new food storage device that could solve the soggy sandwich problem, according to the company.
The Perfect Sandwich separates fresh ingredients such as tomatoes and lettuce, from bread in chilled, watertight compartments. There’s also a removable PerfectCHILL cooling device for perishable items.
The container is produced by housewares manufacturer, Contain This!
Contain This! chose a copolyester made by Eastman Tritan.
The copolyester helps maintain a continuous seal between compartments, according to the company.
The Perfect Sandwich comes to market in May this year.
