La Quinta, Calif. – A new food-grade silicone sponge is now available from the silicone specialists Silicone Engineering.
The company says that after many trials and rigorous testing, it’s now ready to launch the kSil FDA closed cell silicone sponge. All the ingredients added to make up the sponge formula are on the FDA white list ensuring it meets the highest safety standards.
In industries where health and safety is under stringent checks and regulations, such as food and beverage processing, the FDA approved sponge can be used as seals and gaskets to ensure a high performing seal is obtained. The material is in no way going to contaminate product made for human contact or consumption.
The FDA closed cell silicone sponge is available in:
• Rolls
• Sheets
• Extrusions (cords, tubing, profiles & sections)
Silicone Engineering’s solid silicone rubber is also FDA approved for use with food and beverage contact. It also complies with German standard BfR XV as well as EG 1935/2004.
Ideal for seals and gaskets, silicone can withstand extreme temperature variances from 230°C to -60°C. The solid silicone is also WRAS approved for use with drinking water.
