Yourbarfactory, an agri-food company specializing in the design and manufacturing of customized allergen-free bars is in the midst of completing its new 80,000 square foot production facility in Châteauguay, Quebec, an off-island suburb of Montreal, with plans to move in December of 2018.
The facility, according to Yourbarfactory will triple its production capacity by 2020.
Thanks to recent strong growth—a +35 percent on average since its creation in 2001)—Yourbarfactory is constructing a new, more modern, spacious and functional facility for itself.
When the facility will open up for business, the company estimates it will triple its production capacity and will successfully produce an estimated 170 million bars per year.
Thanks to the proposed installation of an new production line, Yourbarfactory will now be able to produce bite-style bars and chocolate-coated bars.
“This project will also allow our team to continue to grow and be radiant. We should expect to hire an additional 25 employees between 2019 and 2020 to support our continuous growth,” explains Yourbarfactory founder and chief executive officer Martin Joyal.
New standards and quality certifications
This new factory will be designed and built with sustainability in mind, with the project registered with the Canada Green Building Council, ultimately to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification upon its completion.
Notes Joyal: “Happiness at work and personal development of our team is part of our core values. We want to foster a pleasant workplace environment while reducing our ecological footprint.”
This relocation project will also be a great opportunity to increase Yourbarfactory’s quality standards level by achieving the BRC (British Retail Consortium) certififcation, one of the highest and most recognized international quality standards in the food and beverage industry.
Yourbarfactory has been certified SQF Level 2 for eight years. The BRC certification will be an additional step in the acknowledgment of Yourbarfcatory’s commitment regarding the quality of its products, and will enable it to gain new markets, including Europe.
Chateauguay, an obvious choice
After studying several relocation scenarios, Yourbarfactory will locate its new plant in the industrial park of the city of Chateauguay, keying in such factors as proximity to major highways and the accessibility by public transport for the employees.
“Our customers are delighted that we continue to evolve to better meet their needs. The building of this new factory is a new important stage in the growth of our company,” concludes Joyal.
Created in 2001, Yourbarfactory specializes in the design and manufacture of allergen-free bars for private label. Just like the future facility, the current facility is peanut- and nut-free. It produces a wide range of bars, including: protein bars, energy bars, cereal bars, diet bars, kid’s bars, crispy rice squares with marshmallow, and more. Yourbarfactory can also manufacture vegan, organic, gluten-free, GMO-free or sugar-free bars. Company information may be found at www.yourbarfactory.com.
