Quebec's Domaine Pinnacle wins three medals at first International Cider Challenge.

Frelighsburg, Que.-based Domaine Pinnacle has won three medals – two gold and one Best in Category — at the first International Cider Challenge, the only worldwide competition dedicated exclusively to cider.

More than 100 ciders from companies based around the world were entered in the event, which was hosted by Drinks International and which took place in West Sussex, England. Medals were awarded based on blind taste tests conducted by English cider experts.

The Quebec company’s Ice Cider took two gold medals, one of them for Design and Packaging, and was awarded Best in Category in the Organic, Fruit Cider and Specialities Super Premium category.

“It is very gratifying to see an ice cider from Quebec compete and win at the highest international level, particularly considering ice cider, as a product category, is only about a decade old,” says Charles Crawford, founder and president of Domaine Pinnacle.
