Quebec City, Que. – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is investing in Expo Québec, an event that brings international buyers to the province to experience the diversity of Canada’s agri-food industry.
Expo Québec, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, will receive $150,000 in funding for its “Rendez-vous laitier” program, highlighting Canada’s world-class dairy genetics, as well as its “Des innovations savoureuses” showcase, which features a variety of agri-food products and research from across Canada.
Funding for these programs comes through the $88-million AgriMarketing program, which helps industry associations build long-term international marketing strategies.
Over the past three years Expo Québec and its business centre have been instrumental in establishing the growth of trade in cattle and dairy genetics, resulting in dairy trade agreements and exports worth several millions of dollars.
