California vegetable processor opens Canadian plant

Gonzales, Calif.-based Misionero Vegetables has opened a 70,000-sq.-ft. processing facility in Brantford, Ont. The plant will supply the company’s customers in northeastern Canada and the U.S.

The processing facility will produce both organic and conventional salads, as well as new products to be launched in 2014.

“This location was selected for its skilled labour force, easier access to customers and the opportunity to bring a respected industry veteran, Hugh Bowman, into the Misionero Group to head this operation,” says Stephen Griffin, president and CEO of Misionero.
