Canadian Business and Maclean’s have ranked Buddy’s Kitchen No.44 on the 30th annual Growth 500, which ranks Canada’s fastest-growing companies. The Growth 500 ranks Canadian businesses on a five-year revenue growth and winners are profiled in a special print issue of Canadian Business and published with Maclean’s magazine and online at CanadianBusiness.com and Growth500.ca.

Buddy’s Kitchen is a private label manufacturer of food and treats for companion animals. Peter Kaufman, Founder & Chief Dog Wagger says the company has a tremendous team of dedicated and loyal food professionals and his company’s core values, strong discipline and passion as key drivers for its hyper growth. Buddy’s Kitchen made the 2018 Growth 500 list with a five-year revenue growth of 1,530 per cent.

“Our client partners are some of North America’s leading retailers and brands of pet food and treats,” says Kaufman. “That comes with tremendous responsibility to inject honesty, transparency and integrity into the consumables we produce and how we engage and work with all stakeholders.” He says the company’s achievement reflects “the strength of our vision and strategy to be an innovation and manufacturing partner for leading pet food brands who want to be “remarkable” and “lead with speed”.”

Deborah Aarts, Growth 500 program manager, says that the companies on the 2018 Growth 500 demonstrate foresight, innovation and smart management. “As we celebrate 30 years of the Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies program, it’s encouraging to see that entrepreneurship is healthier than ever in this country,” she says.
