Wine Growers Canada, the national association representing the Canadian wine industry, has officially opened the Canadian Wine Industry Awards 2021 for nominations this week. The awards recognize the outstanding commitment of individuals in Canada’s grape wine industry and honor those who have gone above and beyond to support the growth of the wine industry in Canada.

Nominations are sought from industry, consumers, and wine-lovers, in three categories:
 The Award of Distinction for an individual who owns, manages or is employed within the Canadian winery, and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to the advancement of the Canadian wine industry.
 The Wine Industry Champion Award for an individual who has provided exemplary support for the Canadian wine industry through media, research, policy and regulation, education or advocacy.
 The Karl Kaiser Canadian Winemaker Award for a winemaker in a Canadian grape winery and who has exemplified leadership in winemaking excellence.
Dan Paszkowski, President & CEO of Wine Growers Canada, said, “It’s so important to honor and celebrate our industry greats, whose contributions have, and continue to, see the Canadian wine industry excel. This past year has not been without its challenges for our wineries, but as well as supporting our wineries navigate and overcome some of these challenges, it’s critical to celebrate our successes and our champions.”
Nominations can be submitted to wgc@wgcanada.ca until February 26, 2021 using this nomination form.
