The FOP issue is on Health Canada’s agenda. Its Action Plan in Response to Stakeholder Feedback from Consultations on Modernizing Canada’s Framework for Health Claims on Food came out in September 2009. While the latest update did not offer a concrete policy on the matter, it was made known that Health Canada intends to further review the FOP issue. This attention will likely focus on nutritional considerations related to FOP and standardization of its presentation.
