Ottawa – The government of Canada has asked the World Trade Organization (WTO) to impose more than $3 billion a year in tariffs on a range of U.S.-made goods.
The move follows the WTO’s fourth and final ruling against the U.S. in regards to its Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) regulations. The decision reaffirmed Canada’s position that the rule is discriminatory against Canadian hogs and cattle.
