Regulation Research & Development federal funding hog producersFunding for R&D initiatives and commercialization now available
Ottawa, Ont. – The $50-million Agriculture Innovation Program (AIP) is now available to Canada’s hog sector.
According to the Canadian Pork Council (CPC), that means there will now be federal funding supporting industry-led science and technology research that will go towards implementing new initiatives and commercializing new products.
Under the AIP, the two funding streams available are the Knowledge Creation and Transfer stream, and the Commercialization Stream.
With the funding, the CPC says it can focus on three areas: industry integrity, including quality, food safety, humane practices and environmental impact; competitiveness; and market penetration for both domestic and international opportunities.
