Heart-shaped Cheerios for National Heart Health Month


General Mills Canada announces the return of happy heart shapes to Canada’s favourite Cheerios flavours hitting shelves February 1, 2021. To raise awareness for Heart Health Month, the brand will switch out its iconic “O’s” to limited-edition happy heart shapes. With heart health as a priority, Honey Nut, Multi Grain and Yellow-Box Cheerios (342 g – 460g) will also include the brand’s largest Fitbit device sweepstakes giveaway to-date.

“With over 2.4 million Canadians living with heart disease, we hope to spark conversations on the importance of heart health in an approachable and fun way, while reminding people that Cheerios can support your heart-healthy lifestyle,” said Fawad Farrukh, Director of Marketing for Cereal at General Mills Canada. “Made with whole-grain oats, Cheerios is a simple & delicious food that can be a part of a heart-healthy diet.”

    I have enjoyed having cheerios for my breakfast for years and was pleasantly surprised to see cheerios in my bowl this morning in the shape of hearts. I just read on your website that you do this for February release for Heart Health Month.
    I recently recovered from heart bypass surgery and felt extra special when I read the article about the heart shaped cheerios.
    Well done.
