DDW, The Color House, offers a food colour powder that is derived from a purple corn hybrid that is non-GMO.
The company says the powder has a deep purple surface shade, while its appearance is vibrant red in an acidic aqueous system.
The purple corn colour also has a neutral taste. The hue of Purple Corn is dependent on pH and concentration. At low pH levels, it exhibits a vibrant orange-red colour, allowing near hue matches to Red #40.
The company says this red hue match can be achieved in vitamin enhanced waters or sports drinks, as well as in hard candies and gummies or jellies.
