Global Hemp Group acquires 20% of the HempNatura brand for US$250,000

Surrey, B.C. – Global Hemp Group Inc. has acquired part ownership of a start-up food brand.

Under the contract, Global Hemp will purchase 20 per cent of the HempNatura brand for US$250,000 and bring it into the Global Hemp family of companies.

HempNatura produces and markets a range of branded hemp-based foods, supplements, body care products and apparel.

“Our relationship with GHG will help us develop functional foods, and also introduce value-added raw materials to the larger food industry,” says Jim Saunders, founder of HempNatura.

HempNatura’s Scientific Advisory Team will work with Global Hemp to put nutritionally balanced ingredients on the market, and the two companies say they plan to collaborate on optimizing their sustainable and responsible practices.

Charles Larsen, Global Hemp’s CEO, says the deal was a natural fit.

“HempNatura has developed an exceptional line of products that demonstrate the many ways hemp can improve lives and the health of the planet,” says Larsen. “We are excited to use Global Hemp’s resources to grow HempNatura into a major brand.”

The deal is expected to close in June 2014.
