St. Paul, Minn./London, Ont. – 3M has just unveiled its new Molecular Detection System.
The company says the system is simple to use and has the same protocol for each assay and fewer steps than most tests.
The system comes with colour-coded assay tubes with matching software screens to help deliver an easy-to-use process.
Testing different pathogens uses the same process, reducing repetitive tasks for less chance of human error. The system is also low-maintenance, alerting the operator if it self-detects a malfunction or failure.
The unique assays are flexible to test one to 96 samples in each run and are able to test for multiple organisms in a single run. Positive samples cam be identified as early as 15 minutes. A simultaneous amplification and detection process can be complete in 75 minutes.
