Halifax, N.S. – JustUs! Coffee, which is based in Wolfville, N.S., emerged as the winner for the Eat Atlantic Product of the Year competition.
Agriculture minister, John MacDonell, presented the company with the people’s choice trophy on Aug. 31.
More than 7,000 Atlantic Canadians cast their votes online by the time voting closed on Aug. 30, reports the DailyBusinessBuzz.com.
Four other Nova Scotia producers were among the finalists, including Market Town Sausages of Antigonish; Pies from Beth, The Pie Lady of Greenwich; Scotian Gold Honeycrisp Apples of Coldbrook, Kings Co.; and Knol Farms frozen blueberries of Cumberland Co.
Today is the Atlantic Challenge, where Atlantic Canadians are encouraged to eat nothing but regionally grown or processed foods.
