SPRINGDALE, Ark.—Tyson Foods Inc. has purchased Keystone Foods for US$2.16 billion in cash.

Keystone, sold by Marfrig Global Foods, is headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and is a supplier to the foodservice industry supplying chicken, beef, fish and pork to global quick-service restaurant chains, and retail and convenience store channels.

Some of the products it provides, are: chicken nuggets, chicken wings and tenders, beef patties, and breaded fish fillets.

In the deal, Tyson acquires six processing facilities and an innovation centre in Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania; and eight plants and an innovation centre in Australia, China, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.
