March 19, 2020, Toronto, Ont. – In light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) is postponing its 2020 STORE Conference until Sept. 14-15, 2020.
The event had been scheduled for May 26-27, 2020.
The RCC said in a statement that its top priority is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the retail community.
“We are working 24/7 on behalf of all our members and talking to all levels of government and health agencies to ensure Canadians’ diverse retail needs are met while keeping everyone safe,” RCC president and CEO Diane Brisebois stated in a press release. “We have cancelled our spring events (Retail Human Resources Conference, Retail Cannabis Forum and Retail Marketing Conference) and have issued full refunds to all who have registered.”
The RCC stated that the organization is clearly operating amid unique circumstances with rapidly developing information.
“As COVID-19 evolves, we will continue to find solutions to both flatten the curve and manage the outcomes responsibly,” the RCC stated.
