Teeswater, Ont. – A food processor in Bruce County is increasing its production of Ontario dairy products with the help of almost $1 million from the province.

Gay Lea Foods Co-operative says the aim is to meet growing demand and expand the market for local farmers.

The increase in production will also create 20 new jobs and increase annual revenues by $25 million.

The company will also be sourcing 50 million additional litres of milk per year from Ontario farmers.

And with the additional milk, Gay Lea becomes the exclusive supplier for Chapman’s Ice Cream in Markdale, Ont.
