The Food Central Cowork is Western Canada's first food and agriculture coworking space intentionally designed for innovators
Edmonton, Alta. – A new coworking space has opened in Edmonton called the Food Central Cowork.
Food Central Cowork is an initiative of the Agriculture and Food Council of Alberta (AFC). In a statement, AFC explains that the new coworking space is Western Canada’s “first food and agriculture focused coworking space intentionally designed for innovators who are changing the way we grow, process and consume food and agriculture products.”
The space opened on Jan. 31 with 50 members.
The bright, open space includes private offices, permanent desks and flex desks. It also offers special collaboration programming, mail handling, professional services, advanced IT, discussion groups, salad clubs, social media exchanges, investment pitch days and “other experiences that foster the mixing of ideas to create innovative solutions, while keeping overheads to a minimum, allowing each member to focus on growing their business.”
Food Central Cowork is located in the North Edge Business District in Edmonton.
AFC is an industry-led non-profit society that was established in 1994 and has members from across Alberta’s agri-food industry.
