Lay’s Chalet Sauce chips to launch at grocery stores

Chip lovers who are also dedicated fans of Swiss Chalet’s legendary dipping sauce are rejoicing: Lay’s and Swiss Chalet have partnered to bring Lay’s Chalet Sauce potato chips to Canadian consumers. Around since 1954, Swiss Chalet’s secret recipe sauce has developed a cult-like following among many Canadians, which is what inspired Lay’s and Swiss Chalet to create these quintessentially Canadian chips.

Beginning in September, Lay’s Chalet Sauce potato chips were available only in-restaurant at participating Swiss Chalet locations while quantities lasted, in 255 g bags and 40 g bags. But the initial popularity of the chips has led Lay’s to decide to launch them at mass retailers and grocery stores across the country in 255 g, 66 g and 40 g bags starting November 1.

“We knew Canadians would have a sweet spot for Lay’s Chalet Sauce chips, but the response has been beyond our expectations,” says Shereen Yasseen, senior director of Marketing – Frito Lay, PepsiCo Foods Canada.
