Toronto – GreenSpace Brands Inc. has acquired a cold pressed and high-pressure pasteurized juice maker.
In a statement, GreenSpace says it acquired The Cold Press Corp. late last week for between $5.385 million to $6.385 million.
The Cold Press Corp. owns the CEDAR brand and sells a variety of cold-pressed juice-based products and probiotic enriched juices through major grocery chains across Canada. The statement adds that “Over the trailing three months ended July 31, 2017, [the company] earned gross revenue of approximately $1.25 million, representing year-over-year growth of 200 per cent.”
Matthew von Teichman, the CEO of GreenSpace, says the acquisition “aligns with GreenSpace’s pursuit of the ‘gut health’ category.”
In addition, The Cold Press Corp. “is leading the emerging cold pressed juice category by stripping away the complexities of superfood nutrition and providing consumers with access to products that are simple, without sacrificing quality,” says von Teichman in the statement.
GreenSpace owns Life Choices Natural Foods (premium meat products made with grass-fed and pasture-raised meats), Rolling Meadow Dairy (grass-fed dairy product line), Holistic Choice (premium natural pet food line), Nudge (a line of family favourite foods), and Kiwi Pure (an imported grass-fed butter product line).
The company’s other acquisitions include Love Child (Brands) Inc. (a maker of 100 per cent organic food for infants and toddlers), Central Roast Inc. (a clean snacking brand) and Nothing But Nature Inc. (an organic juice and blended tea brand).
