Moncton – After Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc throughout Atlantic Canada, Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is reminding customers that Canada’s leading agriculture lender is here to support them.

“First, we want everyone to know that we are thinking of them in this challenging time,” said Faith Matchett, FCC vice-president of operations for Atlantic. “We also want our customers to know we will work with them to find solutions to any short-term financial pressure they may face as a result of this storm.”

“We won’t know the full extent of damage for some time, but we’ve already heard that some customers will likely be facing some financial hardship as a result of Dorian’s damaging winds and heavy rainfall throughout the region,” Matchett said. “FCC’s support for customers is a regular part of our business and they deserve our support when faced with adversity beyond their control.”

FCC is willing to work with customers to come up with solutions for their operations on a case-by-case basis and will consider deferral of principal payments and/or other loan payment schedule amendments to reduce the financial pressure caused by the storm.

Customers facing financial pressure are encouraged to contact their FCC relationship manager or the FCC Customer Service Centre at 1-888-332-3301 to discuss their individual situation and options.
