Dietitians of Canada mark the start of Nutrition Month 2011 with the launch of a cookbook
Toronto – The Dietitians of Canada kicked off Nutrition Month 2011 on March 1. The event celebrates and showcases the food that is grown in and available in Canada.
And to mark the event the group launched Cook! – a new go-to Canadian cookbook.
The aim is to provide solutions to the challenges Canadians face when trying to get healthy meals on their tables.
Calling it a Canadian treasure, Dietitians of Canada says the book is a collection of 275 recipes, 32 food photographs, nutrition tips and practical family cooking lessons.
Mary Sue Waisman is a registered dietitian, chef and the author of Cook! She explains that the recipes are diverse and designed for singles, couples, families and gatherings.
A nutritional analysis accompanies each recipe, offering an easy way to learn more about healthy cooking and eating.
