Food In Canada Research & Development

What green issues matter most to Québec consumers and how much are they willing to pay for eco-responsible food products?

Jean-Marc Demers, Braque Agency president and CEO, and Francis Parisien, Vice-President Eastern Canada at Nielsen Media Research, will address these questions and more when they hold a joint conference on “Québec and Responsible Food: Consumer Insights and Hot Buttons.” It will take place Nov. 28, as part of the Green Marketing event organized by the Food Processing Council of Québec (Conseil de la transformation alimentaire du Québec — CTAQ).

Both speakers will present first-hand the results of market research conducted over the past several months. The objective is to better understand consumer concern over sustainable development, a pressing issue within today’s marketplace.

Do consumers place more emphasis on choosing organic or fair-trade products? Local or zero-waste products? No criteria were ignored in order to provide the greater public with the most accurate review of Québec consumer expectations towards the agrifood industry, the price elasticity in responsible foods as well as major trends to follow over the next few years.

This conference will provide an opportunity for agrifood companies to better understand the responsible-consumption movement in Québec so that they can adjust as needed to reap all the potential benefits.
