
State-of-the-art flour mill to be built in Ontario

Winnipeg, Man. – Horizon Milling G.P. has purchased a 27-acre site in Guelph, Ont. with plans to build a new flour mill over the next three years.
Horizon Milling G.P. is a flour milling joint venture between Cargill, Inc. and CHS Inc. The company currently has flour mills in Montreal, Que. and Saskatoon, Sask.
The Guelph facility will primarily serve food processors in southwestern Ontario, with grain sourced from farmers in both Eastern and Western Canada. According to the company, the new mill will increase its Canadian production by up to 30 per cent.
“Our new mill will represent the future in flour mills,” says Dan Dye, president of Horizon Milling. “As a completely new complex, we will incorporate the latest technologies in the industry and design the site to allow farmers easy access for deliveries and efficient rail and truck loading systems, among other innovations.”
