Saputo to close milk facility in Trois-Rivières

Montreal, Que. – Saputo has announced it will close its milk processing plant in Trois-Rivières, Que. at the end of August 2015. Sixty-one employees will be affected by the closure.

According to Saputo, the facility, which was acquired by in 1997, has outdated equipment and couldn’t be renovated to bring it to the same standards of the company’s other 25 dairy processing facilities in Canada.

Production will be relocated to other plants in Quebec.
