Grand River Foods expansion project gets a boost from the province

Cambridge, Ont. – A government grant will help a food processor obtain new food processing equipment and create more jobs.

Grand River Foods says the Ontario government has given the company a $1 million grant.

The company applied for the grant boost last year, reports the The company says with increasing demand it needed to make some high-tech changes.

The company put $6 million toward an expansion project, which it started last year and completed in mid-July.

The project included a $4.5-million addition to the company’s Vondrau Drive plant in Cambridge and $2.5 million for specialized equipment, engineering, surveying and consulting costs.
