Private-label manufacturer expands through acquisition

Toronto, Ont. – Associated Brands, a manufacturer of private-label dry packaged goods, has acquired Soluble Products, a New Jersey-based producer of powder supplements for weight management and sports nutrition.
The Toronto-based company manufactures flavoured drink mixes, soups, bouillon, side dishes and sweeteners. The acquisition of Soluble will enable it to expand its portfolio with products such as powder supplements for diets, bodybuilding, sports nutrition and children’s health.
“This acquisition strengthens our position as a partner of choice for co-manufacturing services and helps us build on our leading position in the North American private-label dry packaged goods marketplace,” says Associated Brands CEO Scott Greenwood. “We are intent on continuing to create exceptional value for our customers as we grow our business, both organically and by acquisition.”
Upon completion of the deal, Associated Brands will begin transferring production of Soluble Products to its state-of-the-art facility in Medina, N.Y.
