Toronto – A new 40,000 sq.-ft. facility and new jobs are coming to Flamborough, Ont.

The company says the move will mean incorporating new technology into its operations, giving it greater efficiency, lower costs and a smaller environmental footprint.

One of the new technologies includes a water recycling system that will recover 90 per cent of the water used in the plant, says the Spectator.

The facility, which will be ready to open in 2012, will help increase the company’s production from 118,000 pounds to 312,000 pounds of potatoes per day. It’s expected to add $15 million to the company’s bottom line over two years.

Potatoes will be supplied from growers in Ontario, P.E.I. and the northeastern U.S.
