
Montreal-based frozen vegetable company expands again

Business Operations acquisition processing plants QuebecBonduelle acquires parts of Allens’ vegetable operations
Montreal, Que. – The North American subsidiary of France’s The Bonduelle Group has acquired three processing plants and one repackaging centre for frozen vegetables belonging to Siloam Springs, Ark.-based Allens, Inc.
Allens specializes in canned and frozen vegetables. Bonduelle has acquired its facilities in Bergen, Oakfield and Brockport, N.Y., as well as a plant in Fairwater, Wis. The facilities employ approximately 400 staff in total, and produce roughly 150,000 tons of vegetables per year.
The agreement also includes the Chill Ripe and Garden Classic brands, as well as a license for Bonduelle to use certain Allen brand names for 18 months.
