Cargill cuts 2,000 jobs globally

Minneapolis, Minn. – Cargill, Inc. has announced that it is cutting up to 2,000 jobs globally.
The Minneapolis-based company currently has 138,000 employees working in 63 countries, including Canada.
According to Cargill, the layoffs, which will take place over the next six months, are due to the general weak economic environment worldwide. The company is also attempting to reduce expenses and simplify work processes.
As well as other services, Cargill processes and produces food ingredients, agri-food and agricultural products.
