Annex Business Media Inc. has acquired Food in Canada from Glacier FarmMedia. Food in Canada is a B2B media brand targeting the food processing sector nationwide. The brand becomes part of Annex’s diversified manufacturing media group, which now includes 19 brands.

“Food in Canada fits very well into our existing portfolio of manufacturing brands, including synergies with such brands as Canadian Packaging and Bakers Journal,” says Annex chief operating officer Scott Jamieson. “It will also benefit from some significant operational and market synergies, making for an exciting addition.”

The brand will be managed by B2B veteran Diane Kleer as part of her growing manufacturing group, with the printing moved to Annex’s commercial printing operation in Simcoe, ON. The new team includes editor Nithya Caleb, a B2B media editor with over seven years’ experience; and experienced media sales manager Kim Barton. In addition to revamping the magazine and website content, the team will take advantage of Annex’s deep resources to add new ways to inform its audience, including virtual and live events, webinar series, and podcasts.

Glacier FarmMedia serves farmers and the ag industry through publications and platforms like The Western Producer, Canadian Cattlemen, Farmtario, AgDealer, MarketsFarm, Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, Ag in Motion, and the Farm Forum Event.

“Keeping our readers connected and informed about topics related to their business and livelihood is a critical part of the essential work we do here,” says Bob Willcox, President, Glacier FarmMedia. “This sale will allow us to tighten our focus on serving farmers and those engaged with primary agriculture through our publications, events, and other platforms.”

“I’d like to thank the team at Glacier FarmMedia for recognizing the natural fit for Food in Canada at Annex, and for their flexibility and efforts in making this transition possible,” Jamieson adds. “This is a good move for readers and advertisers in this key manufacturing sector.”
