Ozery Bakery has launched what it says is the first-ever packaged Vegan Brioche.
In a statement the family owned Toronto baked goods manufacturer says its new product is made to meet the growing demand for plant-based products.
The company says it “has replaced the typical brioche ingredients such as butter, milk and eggs with plant-based ingredients,” which means the new product has less cholesterol, less saturated fat and less sugar. And compared to a standard brioche, Ozery’s version is higher in fibre.
Ozery Bakery’s Vegan Brioche, says the statement, is like all the company’s products: free of dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, artificial flavours, colours, preservatives, additives and GMOs.
The Vegan Brioche comes in two formats: Bites and Buns. The statement says the buns are pre-sliced and are similar to the company’s OneBuns product; and the bites are snack-size brioches.
The Vegan Brioche is available in various retailers across Canada.
