Smoke Show Hot Sauce has been produced in Montreal since 2015, and now has made its way to Ontario.

Smoke Show is a Jalapeño-based hot sauce that the company says “is equal parts smoky, spicy and sweet.”

The story goes that the founder, Dave Rose, had an obsession with YouTube hot sauce tutorials and his brother and co-founder, Nick, was obsessed with using a smoker. The brothers brought the obsessions together in their backyard and started off making very small batches of the hot sauce.

The ingredients include Jalapeño peppers, water, cider vinegar, maple syrup, concentrated lemon juice, salt , mustard flour, xantham gum, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, onion powder, natural smoke flavour and spices.

The company says it’s about the only smoked Jalapeño hot sauce on the market in Canada.

Smoke Show Hot Sauce comes in 250-mL bottles and has a suggested retail price of $8.99. Consumers can purchase the hot sauce through the company’s website or in Toronto and other cities in Southern Ontario, Regina, Sask., Vancouver and Calgary.
