A new X-ray inspection system is designed with the food industry in mind

S+S Inspection Inc. has introduced the next generation of its Raycon X-Ray inspection system.

The company says it’s designed for the packaging industry, especially the food sector, to detect a wide variety of metallic and non-metallic contamination in packaged and unpackaged products.

The Raycon X-Ray inspection system can identify agglomerated, deformed, broken and missing items, even in metallic packaging.

The machine uses the latest long-life X-ray tube and proprietary real-time software. It has a bottom-up shoot configuration with the X-ray source under the conveyor rather than over the top, which provides a full product inspection. It also has fold-away covers with safety interlocks making cleaning easy and quick.
