Lake Forest, Ill. and Waterloo, Ont. – Handtmann, which specializes in filling, portioning, and linking equipment for meat processors, has added the 16-vane Handtmann VF 624 to its Handtmann VF 600 series.
The company says the 16-vane Handtmann VF 624 is designed specifically for small portion, small-calibre cooked snack sticks.
The VF 624 also features smaller cells and longer-lasting vanes controlled by Handtmann servo systems to deliver accurate and adjustable small-calibre portioning, even at high pressures with products containing up to 15% air.
Handtmann says it has optimized its small portion pump geometry to reduce side plate pressure in the VF 624, while enabling higher cell pressures and eliminating bending at all pressures.
The new Handtmann VF 624 design also improves vane travel in the rotor to manage pulsing and leakage while requiring less torque and increasing vane life.
New materials in the meat pump can now also deliver Handtmann’s accurate portioning for longer intervals between adjustments.
