Add a clean label starch

The Novation Endura series of starches from Ingredion has a high process tolerance, requires no masking and may appear on packaging as starch or corn starch

Westchester, Ill. – The Ingredion group of companies, a global provider of ingredient solutions, has launched an addition to its Novation line of clean label starches – the Novation Endura series – in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The company says the Endura series has the highest process tolerance available in a functional native starch. The new series can help food manufacturers create a wider range of natural and additive-free products, including dressings, yogurts, UHT-processed soups and frozen meals.

The Novation Endura series can also help maintain desired product texture under high heat and shear, and it can deliver stability during shelf-life, including chilled and frozen storage. The clean flavour profile requires no masking, even in delicately flavoured products.

Nearly 73 per cent of consumers worldwide say a short, simple ingredient list is important or very important when considering their food and beverage purchases, according to 2012 proprietary Ingredion research of 300 consumers in each of 11 countries. NOVATION Endura 0100 starch may appear on ingredient lists as “starch” or “corn starch.”

Research also shows that 60 per cent of consumers worldwide would switch brands for a “natural” label. Using NOVATION Endura starch allows for label claims such as “natural,” “additive free” and “no artificial ingredients.”
