DuPont Nutrition & Health has introduced the BAX System Real-Time PCR Assay for L. monocytogenes to help support food safety and quality standards.
The next-generation test offers shorter and simpler sample preparation and faster real-time processing, without a loss of accuracy, making it a quick and reliable method for detecting L. monocytogenes in a variety of products. The assay has already been validated on frankfurters, cooked shrimp, spinach, queso fresco and environmental surfaces.
Finally, the system allows food processors additional flexibility by allowing them to test for L. monocytogenes, Listeria spp. and Salmonella in the same batch, with the results available in just over an hour. www.dupont.com
