Ingredion Incorporated has introduced two new certified-organic, functional and clean-label starches for Canada and the U.S.
Ingredion says the new Novation Prima 309 and 609 are native corn starches that allow manufacturers to create better eating experiences for consumers and they offer extended visual, sensory and cost appeal.
The starches are designed for organic products that can undergo harsh process conditions and require high freeze/thaw stability, such as organic savoury foods, alternative-dairy products and baby foods.
Novation Prima 309 and 609 can also provide a comparable viscosity and gel strength to modified starches and can provide a cold-temperature stability.
The starches also create a smooth, short texture that once cooked don’t set to a gel or cause syneresis.
