Eccentric disc pumps

Mouvex says its eccentric disc pumps, especially the SLS model, can optimize product recovery applications

Mouvex, which is part of PSG, a Dover company and a manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, offers its eccentric disc pump.

The company says its eccentric disc pumps, especially the SLS model, can optimize product recovery applications because they can pump air, which creates a vacuum effect on the pump’s suction side and a compressor effect on the discharge side.

The result is a plug effect that pushes a complete product plug out of the piping. The company says this enables its pumps to recover product from transfer lines at rates from 60 per cent to 80 per cent or more. This can mean thousands of dollars in savings for food and beverage manufacturers.

In most food and beverage manufacturing situations, yield can be affected by the amount of product that gets stuck in suction or in the discharge process lines during or at the end of production runs.

The company says the key to avoiding the waste is to use pumping technology to strip suction or discharge lines of valuable raw materials and saleable end products.
