Offers fast, accurate and cost-effective way to detect foodborne pathogens

3M Canada has announced an update to its 3M Molecular Detection System with the addition of the assay test kit for Listeria spp. The new test kit has been approved by Health Canada for all environmental surfaces, including stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, rubber and wood.

The 3M Molecular Detection System now has three pathogen-specific assay test kits: Salmonella, E. coli O157 and Listeria spp. The system features several unique technologies, is compact, portable and adaptable to a range of lab environments. Each assay test kit uses the same software interface and DNA extraction protocol, and can test between one and 96 samples per run.

Easy to use and cost-effective, the system offers a quick, accurate and reliable method of detecting pathogens in food and beverage products.
