The new U.S. dietary guidelines were released on Jan. 7, 2016. They drew much media attention, even here in Canada, as these guidelines are expected to shape American nutrition policy and programming until 2020. This is the 8th edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), having been published since 1980. How have the guidelines changed over the years?
