C.H. Robinson has acquired Montreal-based Milgram & Company Ltd. for $62 million

Minneapolis, Minn. – A U.S. global third-party logistics (3PL) company has acquired Montreal-based Milgram & Company Ltd., a provider of freight forwarding, customs brokerage and surface transportation in Canada, for $62 million.

In a statement, C.H. Robinson says the acquisition is part of its plan to expand its global presence.

John Wiehoff, chairman and CEO of C.H. Robinson, says the acquisition is the company’s third in the past five years.

“We are extremely proud of the progress we have made in bringing these companies into C.H. Robinson, and Milgram provides another unique opportunity to strengthen our global forwarding and customs brokerage offerings in Canada,” Wiehoff says in the statement. “We look forward to working with Milgram’s customers to offer our full suite of logistics services to help improve their supply chains.”

Milgram has approximately 330 employees across six offices in Canada and one in the U.S. The company provides surface transportation and warehousing services, says the statement, to 3,500 customers.

For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2017, Milgram had approximately $155.3 million in gross revenues, says the statement.

C.H. Robinson has clients in 31 countries and has 125 offices around the globe. The company has more than 4,000 employees.
