Company will work with Canadian Wheat Board to help producers

Calgary, Alta. – Viterra Inc. and the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) have formed a grain-handling agreement, effective Aug. 1, to offer producers and end-users more marketing options.

The partnership will allow Viterra to accept grain deliveries of wheat, durum and barley from farmers with CWB contracts at all Viterra locations in Western Canada. The agreement also includes port-handling services.

“We are very pleased to forge a new alliance with Viterra that will greatly assist the CWB in marketing farmers’ grain through our pool programs,” says CWB president and CEO Ian White. “Access to Viterra facilities means farmers now have a wide range of locations to deliver the grain they contract with CWB.”
