Canadian Blast Freezers Ltd. has received funding from the Ontario government to invest in new equipment.

The company – which specializes in providing blast freezing, cold storage and export solutions to the food industry – will use the $620,820 to enhance productivity, diversify its product line and create new jobs.

“With support from the McGuinty government, our company will strengthen its position within the region’s food processing sector,” says Dale Willard, president of Canadian Blast Freezers.

The company will introduce cutting-edge refrigerated technology, as well as meat processing and cooking lines.

The two-year project will create 75 new jobs and provide eastern Ontario with a fully-integrated, state-of-the-art food processing facility.

This investment supports the province’s five-year Open Ontario plan to create new opportunities for jobs and growth.

The company says it has Canada’s largest dedicated blast-freezing capacity and has a temperature capability to -45C.
