Produce processor set to double capacity

Mississauga, Ont. – Pride Pak Canada Ltd. has announced it has received a $2.3-millon provincial loan to help pay for a planned $8.3-million expansion to double production capacity at its Mississauga, Ont. facility.

Pride Pak is Canada’s largest fresh produce processor, producing fresh-cut vegetables, salad mixes, packaged apple slices and more.

The planned expansion will enable to company to invest in newer, more efficient processing and refrigeration equipment. The investment will also help extend the shelf life of Pride Pak’s fresh-cut produce, enabling it to ship to more customers across North America while growing its market share.

As well as doubling capacity, the expansion will create 61 jobs and support another 20.
